The TEC1-12710 Peltier Module uses the Peltier effect to move heat from one side of the plate to the other. Apply 12V DC and the module pumps heat away from the cold side toward the hot side. With a good heatsink and fan on the hot side, the cold side can drop well below room temperature.
It contains 127 semiconductor couples and handles up to 10A, so this Peltier cooler gives strong cooling for its size. It’s silent, compact, and has no moving parts or refrigerant. That makes it a popular choice for students, makers and engineers building cooling projects in Ghana’s hot climate.
Reverse the polarity and the hot and cold sides swap. The same module can be used for both cooling and heating.
Key Features of the TEC1-12710
- 12V DC operation, up to 10A. Strong cooling power.
- Cools and heats. Reverse the polarity to switch sides.
- No moving parts. Silent, with no gas, refrigerant or compressor.
- Compact 40×40mm size. It fits small enclosures and coolers.
- 127 thermoelectric couples. Good heat-pumping capacity.
- Large temperature difference. Up to about 67°C between the hot and cold sides, in ideal conditions.
- 25cm pre-attached leads. Easy to wire.

How to Use the TEC1-12710 Peltier Module
- Fit a heatsink and fan to the hot side. This step is essential.
- Apply thermal paste thinly to both sides of the module.
- Clamp it firmly and evenly between the heatsink and the cold plate or block.
- Connect the wires: red to +12V and black to GND, using a power supply rated for at least 10A, such as our 12V 20A power supply.
- Power on and check that the cold side cools and the hot side stays cool to the touch, thanks to the heatsink.
⚠️ Important:
- Never power the module without a heatsink on the hot side. It can overheat and be destroyed within seconds.
- Use a power supply that can deliver the full current. Small adapters will overheat.
- Don’t exceed 15V.
- Use thick wires and secure connections, because the module draws high current.
- To control temperature with Arduino, switch the module with a MOSFET or relay module. Never connect it directly to the Arduino pins.
