The ESP32-C6 SuperMini packs Espressif’s newest low-power wireless chip onto a board about the size of a postage stamp. The ESP32-C6 is the first ESP32 with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), which connects more reliably and uses less power on busy networks. It also has an IEEE 802.15.4 radio, so the same board can join Zigbee, Thread and Matter smart home networks.
The board has a native USB-C port, so you can program it straight from the Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF or MicroPython without a separate USB-to-serial chip. BOOT and RESET buttons are on the board, and the pins fit a breadboard. It’s a good choice when space is tight but you still need strong wireless features.
Key Features
- ESP32-C6 chip. It has a 160MHz high-performance RISC-V core and a separate low-power RISC-V core.
- Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), 2.4GHz. It uses less power and handles crowded networks better than older Wi-Fi.
- Bluetooth LE 5. Use it for BLE sensors, beacons and phone apps.
- Zigbee 3.0 and Thread (802.15.4). It’s ready for Matter smart home devices.
- 4MB flash. There’s room for larger programs and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
- Native USB-C. You program and debug over USB, with no extra driver chip.
- Very small SuperMini size. It’s ideal for wearables and compact enclosures.
- Low-power sleep modes. It’s well suited to battery-powered sensors.
- Rich peripherals. It has UART, SPI, I2C, PWM and a 12-bit ADC.

Programming
Arduino IDE:
- Install the esp32 by Espressif Systems board package (version 3.0 or later) from the Boards Manager.
- Choose ESP32C6 Dev Module.
- Set USB CDC On Boot to Enabled so the Serial Monitor shows output over USB-C.
Also supported: ESP-IDF, MicroPython and PlatformIO.
Upload tip: If the board isn’t detected, hold BOOT, press and release RESET, then release BOOT to enter download mode.
